So who is behind Veloist.cc and why am I here?
To be perfectly honest it’s just me, Martyn, plus a computer. I got into this by accident a few years back when I helped out James Aston who had started the original HBB and Veloist.cc websites. A while later, when the group I ride with needed some new kit, I took on the job of trying to organise this process. At first, I found it difficult to source exactly what we needed in terms of delivery time, quality and volumes at a price we were prepared to pay. After extensive research, I found a brilliant Belgian supplier with manufacturing in Eastern Europe who produce great kit at reasonable prices with great service levels.
Out of that original collaboration Veloist.cc was started to bring a service to smaller clubs and groups who perhaps don’t have the scale to source custom kit. In 2016 I put together several custom wear orders for groups and small clubs, and am now going forward into 2017 confident I can provide a great product and service for a reasonable price.
For the future, I want to keep the company very small so that I can personally manage each customer order - getting to know what they want, organising samples, agreeing the design and generally taking the pain out of the process.
In addition, having been asked on several occasions, I have decided to put together a small stock range. Being based in Somerset, I thought what better way to launch than with a jersey based on the ‘Somerset Flag’ - you can see the concept design below in the Stock Items section along with the other 2017 designs.
I’m always glad to hear from other cyclists and whether you are a past or prospective customer… or neither…. please get in touch. You can share your ideas and cycling experiences by dropping me a line via the Contact Section below.
Veloist.cc is open for business!!!!
I’m excited to be putting together the finishing touches to the Veloist 2017 range and I thought I’d give you a sneak preview of the new designs.
For starters, there’s a re-issue of the ever popular “Saint Petroc” Devon Flag jersey. If you are planning to do the Dartmoor Classic, a solo attempt of some of the famous Tors, or perhaps a spring group ride around the the hilly lanes of East Devon, then this is one for you.
Next up is the first truly new design - a limited edition Somerset jersey based on the increasingly popular county flag. With its bold, red Wyvern and yellow flashes you can show your allegiance to this beautiful county. Whether you’re climbing Porlock Toll Road, heading for Cheddar Gorge and the Mendip Hills or rolling across the levels to Sweet’s cafe for that all important cake break, this jersey will look the part.
Number three is inspired by the designs of Piet Mondrian (and the famous La Vie Claire jersey of Le Monde and Hinault) although the Burgandy/Grey/Black colourway is perhaps a little more understated than the original design. One to keep back for a Sportive century on the “best bike” perhaps.
And finally…… “Petroc” meets “Piet” in the shape of “The Devonian”. The Devon colours will make you really stand out as you drop everybody on the beast of a climb out of Widecombe when the ToB next comes to Devon.
All four designs will be manufactured to our Tour Plus spec which has a wide power gripper finish on the sleeves, full zip, drop front collar and three rear pockets. For comfort there are over-locked seams and the jerseys will be made using an improved softer feel fabric in 2017.
In the meantime visit the Clearance Store for great bargains on previous season designs from Veloist and HBB.
Veloist.cc can now take on custom wear orders for a full range of cycling kit, so if you are an established club or group, or have an upcoming one-off project you want help with please do get in touch.
I can use a design you have previously worked on, or start from scratch to produce a totally new concept.
The range of kit available is comprehensive - short and long sleeved jerseys, gilets, jackets, aero/skin suits, bib shorts and 3/4 knickers….. in fact, the works. There are specific ‘fits’ for men and women, plus extra small sizes for juniors up to XXXXL for seniors. I even have a stock of sizing samples for your members to try out, which takes a lot of guesswork out of the size selection process. The artwork is printed using dye sublimation printing, which does not interfere with fabric performance and we use the best inks and highest available printer resolutions to ensure a non-fading, clear set of images.
Order turnaround is an impressive 4 weeks with low minimum order quantities - down to 5 pieces for most items and no minimum number for each size within an order.
If appropriate, I can also work with your local bike shop to provide items for them to stock and sell directly to your riders (subject to agreement) giving them a valuable source of revenue and profit.
In short… high performance custom kit made in Europe, guaranteeing the quality of the finished item and on-time, in full delivery.
